Chemical Feed Pumps

A peristaltic metering pump doses liquid chemical into a pressurised line at a precise, repeatable rate. The chemical never touches a moving part. Rollers squeeze a flexible tube, which means the only wear item is the tube itself, and aggressive chemicals like sodium hypochlorite and muriatic acid cannot attack a seal or a diaphragm.

Sizing the pump

The Pro Series 300 range covers a wide span of output, so match the pump to your actual demand rather than to your pool size alone.

• 0.9 GPD for very low demand, small bodies of water and precise acid feed.
• 12 GPD for typical residential and light commercial pools.
• 38 GPD for larger commercial pools and high bather load.
• 77 GPD for high volume commercial and municipal applications.

Oversizing is a real mistake. A pump that only ever runs in short bursts at the bottom of its range gives you poorer dosing resolution than a correctly sized unit running a reasonable duty cycle.

Installing it properly

Every feed pump needs a suction line with a foot valve and strainer in the day tank, an injection fitting with a check valve at the return line, and an interlock so the pump can never dose while circulation is off. A flow switch or pressure switch interlock is not optional. Without it, a pump can empty a tank of acid into a stagnant line.

Consumables to keep on hand

Stock spare pinch tubes, injection fitting seals and a tube of pump lubricant. Tubes are wear items by design, and a five minute tube change is what keeps a feeder from becoming a service call.
