Tell us about your pool and what you're installing. We send back a complete parts list — pump, filter, heater, sanitizer, plus every union, valve and fitting — so it all arrives in one delivery and fits the first time.
The big boxes are the easy part. Installs stall on the $12 fitting nobody ordered. Here's the full checklist we build every quote from.
Don't want to figure out which of these you need? That's the point of this page.
Send us the projectNearly every equipment return we see comes down to one of these. We run them on every parts list before it goes out.
115 V or 230 V at the pad? Most pumps and heat pumps are one or the other — and some are switchable. We match the unit to what your breaker gives you.
1.5″ vs 2″ pipe changes the pump you should buy and the unions you need. Send a photo of the existing pad and we'll tell you.
Natural gas vs propane, and whether the line can feed a 400k BTU heater. Wrong one and the heater never fires right.
Pump GPM vs filter and heater max flow. Push too much water through a heater and you'll crack the exchanger — and the warranty won't cover it.
Automation systems, salt cells and heaters don't all talk to each other. We tell you what pairs and what needs an adapter kit.
Simple on purpose. Most parts lists go out the same business day.
Pool size, what you're replacing or building, photos of the pad, and whether you're installing yourself or with a pro. Two minutes with the form below — or just call.
≈ 2 minutesOne document: every unit, every fitting, compatibility notes, and one price with free shipping. We flag anything you already have that you can keep.
Same business dayEverything ships together. Install it yourself with the manufacturer guides below, hand it to your installer, or ask us to connect you with a pro in your area.
One deliveryThe more you give us, the tighter the list. Photos of the current pad and the data plate on each unit are the most useful thing you can send.
Manufacturer manuals and our own quick guides, by category. Bookmark the one you need — and call if you get stuck halfway.
Tell us your ZIP and what's going in. We call around, check licences and reviews, and send you two or three vetted pool pros who'll quote the job — usually within two business days. Free, no markup, no obligation to use any of them.
Prefer to do it yourself? Angi (formerly Angie's List) is the easiest place to start. Here's how we'd use it — and the filters that separate good installers from the rest.
Go to angi.com, enter your ZIP and search "pool equipment installation" or "swimming pool heater install or replace". Don't search "pool builder" — those companies build pools, they don't want a pump swap.
Sort by rating and ignore anything under 4 stars or under 20 reviews. Then open the reviews and check the dates: you want several from the last 6 months, not a 4.8 built on reviews from 2019.
Certified pros have passed an owner background check and hold current licensing. "Angi Approved" is the tier below. Neither replaces your own licence check — but it's a fast first filter.
Every installer has a bad review. What matters is what it's about — no-shows and unreturned calls are a pattern; one grumpy customer over price is not. Check whether the company replied professionally.
Scroll the project photos. You want to see equipment pads — pumps, heaters, plumbing — not just finished pools. If they've installed your brand (Pentair, Hayward, Raypak, AquaCal), even better.
Pick three, request quotes, and expect calls — Angi shares your number with everyone you select. Give each the same info: our parts list, your pad photos, gas / voltage details. That's how you get quotes you can actually compare.
Ask for their licence number and certificate of insurance, and confirm both yourself (state licensing board for electrical / plumbing / gas; the insurer for the COI). Get the quote in writing with a start date. Never pay more than a deposit up front.
Angi is a third-party service; Pool Direct Supply isn't affiliated with it and doesn't guarantee any installer's work. Angi requires your contact details to view pros and will share them with the installers you select. Licensing rules for pool, gas and electrical work vary by state and city — check locally.
No — we supply it and make sure it's right. We'll find you a vetted installer in your area for free if you need one (section 06), or show you how to find one on Angi yourself, or you can install it yourself with the guides above. Either way, sizing, compatibility and the parts list are on us.
Pumps, filters and salt cells are common DIY jobs if you're comfortable with PVC and the unit is being replaced like-for-like. Anything gas or high-voltage should be done by a licensed pro — and some manufacturers require it for warranty.
Pump or filter swap: 1–3 hours. Full pad replacement: a day. New gas heater: half a day plus the gas line work. Automation: half a day to a day depending on how many valves and lights you're controlling.
Rule of thumb: if the unit is over 8–10 years old and the repair is more than a third of a new one, replace — especially pumps, where a variable-speed unit pays for itself in energy. Send a photo of the label and we'll give you a straight answer.
Send us your ZIP and the job. We call local pool pros, check licence, insurance and recent reviews, and introduce you to two or three who'll quote it. We don't take a cut and you're not obliged to use any of them.
Yes. Freight items ship curbside with liftgate on request; you can ship to your home, your installer's shop, or straight to the job.
Yes, whether you buy from us or not. Most people do because it's one delivery, free shipping, and the warranty is registered under an authorized dealer.
If it's on a list we built and it doesn't fit, we make it right — replacement part, return, or a call with the installer to sort it. That's why we check compatibility first.
Send the project in two minutes, or call and walk us through it.
