Freight & delivery
Getting it off the truck
Freight delivery is curbside, and you unload it. Here's what that means at your place, and the one call that saves a redelivery fee.

Freight is not parcel delivery. The machine comes on a pallet, on a truck, and the driver's job ends at the back of that truck. Five things to confirm before it ships. Two minutes now saves a redelivery fee later.
Before your equipment ships
- A truck can physically reach your delivery point. Full-size freight trucks need width, overhead clearance and room to turn around. Low branches, tight gates, cattle guards, soft ground and weight-limited bridges or culverts all stop a delivery.
- You can unload it. A tractor with forks, a skid steer, or two to three people depending on the weight. Check the shipping weight on the product page first. The driver will not unload it for you.
- Someone can receive the pallet when the carrier arrives, and answer the phone when the carrier calls to schedule. Most freight carriers deliver on weekdays during business hours, so plan for someone to be there in that window.
- You have somewhere to put it once it's off the truck, ideally out of the weather.
- Your phone number on the order is one you will actually answer. The carrier calls it to schedule. Missed calls become storage and redelivery charges.
On the day
Inspect before you sign. Signing the delivery receipt says the freight arrived in the condition shown, and once you have signed clean, undocumented damage is very hard to claim.
- Count the packages, pallets and crates against the paperwork.
- Photograph the shipment before you remove any packaging.
- Inspect the packaging and the visible product.
- Record any visible damage or shortage on the delivery receipt or bill of lading before you sign.
- Keep all packaging, crates, pallets, straps and labels.
Then email hello@farmerdirectsupply.com within 24 hours with your order number and the photographs.
Do not install, operate, modify, repair or return the product until we have given you instructions.
