Chemical Tanks

The day tank is the least glamorous part of a chemical feed system and the one most likely to cause a problem. It holds the chlorine or acid your feed pump draws from, and it has to do that safely, without degrading, without spilling and without letting anyone mistake one chemical for another.

• 15 gallon pump mount ready tanks with a platform so the feed pump sits directly on top of the tank it draws from.
• Complete tank and pump assemblies supplied with a Pro Series metering pump already fitted.
• Manway access tanks with containment covers, giving you a large opening for filling and cleaning plus secondary containment if the tank is ever compromised.
• Chemical safety labels so every tank is unambiguously identified.

Why HDPE and why containment

High density polyethylene resists sodium hypochlorite and muriatic acid over the long term, where metal corrodes and lesser plastics become brittle. Containment matters because the failure mode you are guarding against is not the tank splitting open, it is a fitting weeping onto a concrete pad for a week before anyone notices.

Safety practices worth following

• Never store acid and chlorine where a leak from one could reach the other. Mixing them produces chlorine gas.
• Label every tank, even when it seems obvious. Staff change and memories fail.
• Size tanks for about a week of demand. Sodium hypochlorite loses strength in storage, so a tank that takes a month to empty is dosing a moving target.
• Keep tanks out of direct sun and heat, which accelerate that degradation.
