This is the only part of owning a Clear Comfort CCW100 or CCW50 that costs you time: one cartridge, once a year, about five minutes. No tools, no training, no draining.

The system tells you when. The cartridge indicator runs green while the cartridge is in service, turns yellow when it is nearing the end, and red when it must be exchanged. Order at yellow and you never see red.

Two options

Sustainable (CARTX-CCW102S) — built from repurposed materials and shipped with a pre-paid return label. Send the spent cartridge back within 180 days and Clear Comfort refunds the $100 core deposit included in the price. Return it and this is the cheaper cartridge by a wide margin.
Factory-New (CARTX-CCW102F) — a cartridge with no prior ownership. The return label is included but optional, and there is no core deposit to reclaim.

Before you order

This fits the CCW100 and the CCW50 — one cartridge, both systems.
It does not fit the CCW100 V1. That unit reached end of life in January 2023 and its CARTX-CCW101 cartridge is no longer supported. If your system is a white cabinet rather than the orange-and-blue unit, talk to us about a V2 upgrade before ordering.
The CCW25 spa system takes a different cartridge — CCW25-CARTX.
On the sustainable option, put the return label somewhere you will find it. The 180-day window is what gets your $100 back.

Clear Comfort warrants replacement cartridges to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase, for the original purchaser. Damage from freezing, negligence or improper installation is excluded. The CCW100 and CCW50 systems themselves carry a separate five-year system warranty.

: The CCW100 and the CCW50 both take this cartridge. The CCW25 spa system takes CCW25-CARTX instead.
: The sustainable cartridge price includes a refundable $100 core deposit that exists to make sure spent cartridges come back for recycling. Return your old cartridge in the box and pre-paid label supplied with the new one, within 180 days, and Clear Comfort refunds the $100.
: If you will post the old cartridge back, the sustainable one is the better buy once the $100 deposit is refunded. Choose factory-new if you want a cartridge with no prior ownership or you know the return will not happen.
: The cartridge indicator turns yellow when the cartridge is nearing the end of its life and red when it has expired and must be exchanged immediately. Ordering at yellow keeps the system running continuously.
: Only if it is the current V2 — the orange and blue unit. The original white-cabinet CCW100 V1 reached end of life in January 2023 and its CARTX-CCW101 cartridge is no longer supported. Get in touch and we will check your unit and quote a V2 upgrade.
