Pool Cleaning & Maintenance

More about Pool Cleaning & Maintenance

Routine maintenance is what keeps the rest of your equipment working. This category covers the day to day pool and spa care products that handle the small, repetitive tasks nobody wants to remember, starting with automatic water level control.

Why water level matters more than people think

Pool water level is not cosmetic. The skimmer needs the waterline sitting roughly midway up its mouth to work correctly. Too low and the skimmer draws air, which makes the pump lose prime, cavitate and eventually damage the seal and impeller. Too high and the skimmer stops skimming altogether because debris floats over the weir instead of being pulled in. In hot, dry weather a pool can lose enough to evaporation in a few days to cross that threshold.

Automatic water levelers

An automatic leveler senses the waterline and tops the pool up from your fill line, holding the level in the correct band without a garden hose left running and forgotten. That protects the pump, keeps skimming effective and removes one recurring chore. It also stabilises water chemistry, since large manual top ups dilute your chemistry all at once while continuous small additions barely move it.

Building a maintenance routine

  • Weekly, test and adjust chemistry, empty the skimmer and pump baskets and brush the walls.
  • Monthly, check filter pressure against its clean baseline and inspect the equipment pad for leaks.
  • Seasonally, clean or replace filter media and calibrate any probes.

Automating the parts that can be automated, level and chemistry above all, is what makes the remaining manual work manageable.
